Derek Canas acquired HIV as an infant through a blood transfusion during surgery for a congenital heart defect. He went undiagnosed for sixteen years. Today he is a long-term survivor, the founder of D-REK's Angels & Warriors, and an honest, unscripted speaker who brings HIV out of the shadows.

Talk topics: growing up with HIV, living with HIV and heart disease, HIV stigma and the people advocacy leaves out, testing and prevention, and how communities can show up for survivors.
